Please note that Uganda will launch e-Visa applications effective 1st of June 2016:
- Anyone arriving on 1st June 2016 onwards who requires a Visa must apply online. On completion and submission of the application intending travellers will receive a bar coded email notification.
- On arrival at any border post, airport or land borders, that email must be presented and the bar code will be scanned into the immigration system. A Visa sticker will then be printed, including a scanned photograph, which on payment of the appropriate visa fee, will be inserted into the passport.
- For any Visa extensions, the process is due to be completed online, however anyone in Kampala may apply in person at the Immigration Headquarters at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
- These above information applies to single entry Visas, East African Tourist Visa (also covering Kenya and Rwanda), multiple entry Visas and Business Visas.
