Kilaguni Safari Serena Lodge
In the heart of the vast Tsavo National Park lies Kilaguni Lodge, one of the best game viewing lodges in Tsavo. Only 100 metres away from the main building lies a series of waterholes that attracts animals from miles around. Tsavo is one of the great national parks in Africa. It was here that Dennis Finch-Hatton hunted, and where the lions were once famous for eating the workers on the Nairobi/Mombasa railway line. The Chyulu Hills, honeycombed with the caves in which resistance fighters took refuge during the Mau Mau rebellion, are also within striking distance. Mzima Springs is located near here, where the underground waters from Kilimanjaro and the Chyulus meet, and terrific spot for looking at hippo through an underwater viewing room – it’s a whole new perspective. Tsavo is wild and untamed, the wildlife is abundant and the snowy peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro dominate the scene and make the perfect photographic backdrop.
